Poker night

Last Saturday was Poker night, so of course the nails had to match.

I ended up with a gambling mani that I'm actually quite satisfied with.

Base colors: Little finger and thumb is OPI - Alpine Snow, ring finger is OPI - Green-Wich Village, middle finger is OPI - Black Onyx and the index finger is A England - Holy Grail (New Edition) with loose glitter over.

On the thumb I used Black Onyx for the tuxedo jacket and topped it with a glitter from T-R-E-N-D (an accessory store in Denmark) before I painted on the details.

All of the details is painted with acrylic paint.

I'm especially happy with the tuxedo and the roulette!

A closer look on the tux.

Musical Mani Monday, week 12: Lorde - Royals

This weeks song is Royals by Lorde, and is the 12th and last song in the Musical Mani Monday challenge created by Rainbowify Me. Thanks for a cool challenge!

It has been a lot of fun interpreting the songs and coming up with designs for it. I have really loved that it gave me a chance for doing some more hand painting than I have done otherwise.

Now for the design. This week I decided to use the title of the song for my inspiration and going with the most royal design I could come up with!

Here it is:

When I think of a royal color I always think of a deep purple, so I wanted to use my new A England - Avalon as a base which was just perfect for it and I wanted to make it sparkle a bit so I added 2 coats of e.l.f. - Fairy Dust. Then I used China Glaze - Passion to paint the crown and the dots and finished it off with a layer of top coat.
To make it sparkle a little extra I added some pink rhinestones to the bottom of the crown and a clear Swarovski gemstone to the top.

I'm not at all happy with the crown, but unfortunately I didn't have time to start over on that nail, but the rest of the design I really like.

What do you think of the mani?

Don't forget to check out what the other girls came up with for the last song:

An InLinkz Link-up

I've been thinking of making a challenge of my own, so maybe sometime in the future I will announce one...

A England Nail Art

Ok, so today I only have a design to show you because I totally forgot to photograph the base color before doing the design *sigh*  But I'm quite happy with it and it's made mainly with A England polishes.

The base color is A England - Bridal Veil. The red is Briarwood, the blue is Order of the Garter and the gold is Holy Grail (New Edition). The stamping is made with a silver stamping polish from Dashica though.

After applying Bridal Veil I stamped on the silver design and then I filled in some of the spots with the other colors using a thin nail art brush. Quite simple actually.

piCture pOlish - Cosmos

Today I have another gorgeous piCture pOlish polish to show you!

Cosmos is a BEAUTIFUL dark navy blue scattered holo polish from PP's collaboration collection, which is a collection that features polishes that piCture pOlish has teamed up with bloggers and their network partners to create. Cosmos is a collaboration with the talented Camille of Pshiiit.

The formula on Cosmos is just great. It applies smoothly and easily on the nail and it's opaque in 2 coats only. Furthermore drying time is great as well, so all in all another wonderful polish from PP!

I just love, love, love it! Its so gorgeous I was totally lost for words when I saw it on for the first time and its just impossible to catch the full beauty in photos. *sobs*

It has so much depth, but it somehow still looks squishy and almost jelly like.

I used 1 layer of top coat for the photos.'

First 1 in the shade.

And some in the sun.

Isn't it just beautiful?

I tried making a little video to try and show you how much it sparkles.

What do you think?

I think my opinion on this one is quite clear. *teehee*

piCture pOlish - Aurora

Today I have a really gorgeous polish to show you!

Aurora is a truly beautiful multi chrome polish from piCture pOlishe's LE collection that shifts between green, turquoise, blue, purple, pink and gold. It was released earlier this year along with 4 other limited edition polishes; Altered State, Gravity, Illusionist and Solar Flare.

The formula on Aurora was great. It was easy to work with and applied smoothly onto the nail. Due to it being quite transparent I chose to layer it over a black base, which is also what the manufacturer suggests since it really makes the colors pop! I used 2 coats over the black and finished it of with a top coat.

This polish is so beautiful and has so many sides to it that its almost impossible to catch all of them with a camera, but I have tried to photograph it from different angles both in sunlight and shade to try and catch as many as possible.

Musical Mani Monday, week 11: Deep Purple ~ Gipsy’s Kiss

So I missed last weeks challenge because of a busy Easter and getting ready for an exam the following week, now I'm back and although it's a day late here is this weeks Musical Mani Monday.

This weeks song is Gipsy's Kiss by Deep Purple.

I got my inspiration from the band name and the title of the song = Deep Purple Kisses...

I started out painting my nails with OPI - My Very First Knockwurst as a base color.

Looks like this without a top coat.

Then I taped up my little, middle and index finger leaving a triangle and painted it in with A England - Avalon. I then used a dotting tool and Avalon to make kisses on the ring finger and MVFK to make stripes in the kisses. I finished it off with a matte top coat.

Unfortunately the top coat smudged Avalon a bit on the middle and index finger.

What do you think about the mani?

Next weeks song and the last in this challenge is Lorde - Royals, so tune in and see how I get inspired by that! And don't forget to check out the other talented bloggers Musical Mani Monday designs:

Happy Easter!

I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Easter and show you my Easter nails.

I'm quite happy with this design. I think it came out really cute!

I love that the sun is out so much so I just had to take the photos in direct sunlight.

I started out with applying the base colors:

Pinky: China Glaze - Lemon Fizz
Ring finger and thumb: China Glaze - Electric Beat
Middle finger: OPI - Pink-ing Of You
Index finger: A England - Holy Grail (New Edition)

I then painted the details using acrylic paint, a brush and dotting tools. Finished it all of with a layer of Poshé top coat and then I glued the pearl on the bunny's butt.

One in the shade.

What do you think of my Easter design? Have you made one?
