Poker night

Last Saturday was Poker night, so of course the nails had to match.

I ended up with a gambling mani that I'm actually quite satisfied with.

Base colors: Little finger and thumb is OPI - Alpine Snow, ring finger is OPI - Green-Wich Village, middle finger is OPI - Black Onyx and the index finger is A England - Holy Grail (New Edition) with loose glitter over.

On the thumb I used Black Onyx for the tuxedo jacket and topped it with a glitter from T-R-E-N-D (an accessory store in Denmark) before I painted on the details.

All of the details is painted with acrylic paint.

I'm especially happy with the tuxedo and the roulette!

A closer look on the tux.

Musical Mani Monday, week 12: Lorde - Royals

This weeks song is Royals by Lorde, and is the 12th and last song in the Musical Mani Monday challenge created by Rainbowify Me. Thanks for a cool challenge!

It has been a lot of fun interpreting the songs and coming up with designs for it. I have really loved that it gave me a chance for doing some more hand painting than I have done otherwise.

Now for the design. This week I decided to use the title of the song for my inspiration and going with the most royal design I could come up with!

Here it is:

When I think of a royal color I always think of a deep purple, so I wanted to use my new A England - Avalon as a base which was just perfect for it and I wanted to make it sparkle a bit so I added 2 coats of e.l.f. - Fairy Dust. Then I used China Glaze - Passion to paint the crown and the dots and finished it off with a layer of top coat.
To make it sparkle a little extra I added some pink rhinestones to the bottom of the crown and a clear Swarovski gemstone to the top.

I'm not at all happy with the crown, but unfortunately I didn't have time to start over on that nail, but the rest of the design I really like.

What do you think of the mani?

Don't forget to check out what the other girls came up with for the last song:

An InLinkz Link-up

I've been thinking of making a challenge of my own, so maybe sometime in the future I will announce one...

A England Nail Art

Ok, so today I only have a design to show you because I totally forgot to photograph the base color before doing the design *sigh*  But I'm quite happy with it and it's made mainly with A England polishes.

The base color is A England - Bridal Veil. The red is Briarwood, the blue is Order of the Garter and the gold is Holy Grail (New Edition). The stamping is made with a silver stamping polish from Dashica though.

After applying Bridal Veil I stamped on the silver design and then I filled in some of the spots with the other colors using a thin nail art brush. Quite simple actually.

piCture pOlish - Cosmos

Today I have another gorgeous piCture pOlish polish to show you!

Cosmos is a BEAUTIFUL dark navy blue scattered holo polish from PP's collaboration collection, which is a collection that features polishes that piCture pOlish has teamed up with bloggers and their network partners to create. Cosmos is a collaboration with the talented Camille of Pshiiit.

The formula on Cosmos is just great. It applies smoothly and easily on the nail and it's opaque in 2 coats only. Furthermore drying time is great as well, so all in all another wonderful polish from PP!

I just love, love, love it! Its so gorgeous I was totally lost for words when I saw it on for the first time and its just impossible to catch the full beauty in photos. *sobs*

It has so much depth, but it somehow still looks squishy and almost jelly like.

I used 1 layer of top coat for the photos.'

First 1 in the shade.

And some in the sun.

Isn't it just beautiful?

I tried making a little video to try and show you how much it sparkles.

What do you think?

I think my opinion on this one is quite clear. *teehee*
