Today I have a polish from the danish indie brand Foxy Paws to show you.
On the Sunny Side of the Street is thermal polish that shifts from a warm yellow to a mild peach shade. Furthermore it has holographic microglitters in it as well. It's a beautiful spring polish.
The formula on it is great, it covers in 2 coats only and drying time is great! All in all a great polish.
I used a layer of top coat for the photos.
The first photos are taken in natural light and you can see it makes a natural gradient on my nails because my fingers are warm, but the tip of my nails are cold. I think it's a really cool effect.
I then went inside to take some hot and cold photos in water.
First off one under hot water.
Still hot over water.
This one is under cold water.
Still cold - over water. (sorry for the water droplets)
After that I decided to do a bit of stamping or rather try the homemade decals you can make with stamping.
I chose to just make a few on the ring finger and the middle finger.
And apparently at this point I had cold fingers.

Kicked Korean Elvis in the Nards is a white jelly base with red, black and silver glitter in various shapes and sizes.
All of the polishes from WellNails is named after an episode or a line from How I Met Your Mother. This one is no exception. The inspiration from this comes from the episode "Nothing good happens after 2 a.m." where Barney utter the words "Hey, you guys, remember the time that Lily kicked Korean Elvis in the nards?" right after Lily actually does kick Korean Elvis. In the scene Lily is wearing a white dress with different shapes in red and black.
I can't quite decide if I like it or not. On one hand I think it looks really cool, but then I have never been a big fan of jelly bases with glitter like this. Hmm...
The formula of the polish is great and it's really easy to apply and get an even amount of glitter on the nail. I layered it over a white base and used 2 coats to give it depth. I think you can layer it on it's own as well, but it would take 3-4 coats at least, so I chose to save some of the polish instead. Drying time is ok and it dries a bit matte.
I didn't use top coat for the photos.
I thought it would look good with a matte top coat so I gave it a layer of that. In the photos you can't see much of a difference from no top coat to matte top coat, but IRL there was a visible difference. It smoothed the polish out a bit.
I kinda looks like eggshells *lol*

I'm so sorry for the delay on this post, but I have hardly been home the last 3 days.
Anyway, this weeks song is Pink by Aerosmith and of coarse there was only one way to go with this mani for me: PINK!
So I put on Appeal4 - Honeysuckle Chok as base for the mani.
Appeal4 is a danish brand that is 3free and animal cruelty free. Honeysuckle chok is a pink creme from their core collection that came out spring last year. The formula was great and it was almost opaque at 2 coats, but I put on 1 more to be safe. Drying time was average.
I used 1 layer of top coat for the photos.
For the challenge I really wanted to do some hand painted nail art since it's been a while since I did that, so I mostly used the lyrics as inspiration for my design. Here are the lyrics:

I figured I could paint some of the items Steven Tyler mentions in the song so I went for the spots I have highlighted.
Index finger is supposed to be a crayon, on the middle finger there's a flamingo, on the ring finger some kites and on the little finger cherries. The crayon didn't turn out as planned, but I'm pretty happy with the rest of them.
For the thump I got a little inspired by the music video. There's a lot of different people appearing in the video and one of them is a skeleton (with Steven Tyler's head):
So I panted a skeleton on my thumb.

Today I have a polish from China Glaze to show you.
Smoke and Ashes is a polish with a very dark base (maybe black-ish) with lots of blue and green microglitter/shimmer from China Glaze's Hunger Games collection. Is so beautiful, but unfortunately you can't see its true beauty in the photos. It's one of those polishes that you have to see in person to really appreciate it.
The formula was great to work with and it was aaalmost opaque in just one coat, but I gave it 2 just to be 100% sure. I think if you have short nails though that 1 coat is sufficient. Drying time was fine.
No top coat was used for the photos.
I wanted to spice it up a bit, so gave it a layer of e.l.f.- Fairy dust which is a flakie like Essie - Shine of the Times except the flakes are smaller and less obvious.
I finished off with a layer of top coat.
I think it gave it a nice touch.

Galahad is a medium teal blue cream from A England's The Mythicals collection. It’s not overly bright, but has a somewhat muted look to it. It’s super creamy and a very flattering blue color.
Application was a dream, as it always is with A England polishes, and it was opaque in 2 coats. Furthermore it dried very quickly, so once again I must say I'm a big A England fan!
I finally got my light box and daylight lamps, so I wanted to take the photos in there, but I must say at the moment I'm not yet impressed. I think the photos look a bit yellow even though the lamps are supposed to give white light to give the photos a better lighting. Not sure if I'm doing it wrong or the light bulbs aren't the right ones. So the following photos have been taken in the light box and I haven't edited the lighting on them.
These photos are taken outside since one of my kitties had an accident with one of my new lamps that was knocked over and the light bulb was broken *sigh* Just my luck... So now I have to wait for new bulbs... But I have found some LED daylight bulbs that should fit the lamps, so hopefully they will we be better.
I used another layer of top coat for these photos.

Ok so I have joined in on the nail challenge Rainbowify Me started last monday called Musical Mani Monday where she has chosen a number of songs to translate into nail art inspired by the lyrics, the music video or the name of the song.

So I missed the first one which was Marina and the Diamonds - Radioactive, but you can se Rainbowify Me's interpretation of it.
Today it's Culture Club - Karma Chameleon. A very well known song from the 80's.
I was very much in doubt about what I wanted to do and what I wanted to use for inspiration. At first I thought a duochrome polish would be perfect for it, but then I realized that I don't have any decent duochromes *sigh*, so that idea kinda died. Then I saw the music video and at some point he sings:
"Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon,
You come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams,
Red gold and green, red gold and green."
And I immediately caught the red, gold and green part and I settled on using those colors. Unfortunately I was in a bit of a hurry, so I ended up with a very simple design that I'm not quite satisfied with, but this is what I ended up with:
I apologize that my fingers look very red, but because the lighting was bad outside and the sun was almost setting when I took the photos, I had to edit them a bit so you could see the true color of the polishes which seemed more important than red fingers.
